Our Services
At Brain & Behavior Care, we provide comprehensive neuropsychological assessments to help diagnose and treat a range of cognitive and emotional difficulties. Our assessments are tailored to each individual's needs and may include tests of memory, attention, language, thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Family/Caregiver Support
We offer family/caregiver education and training for individuals who experience stress while caring for their loved ones. Treatment focuses on effective behavior management and communication. We aim to provide a safe and supportive environment for families to improve communication and build stronger relationships.
We offer psychotherapy to help individuals better understand and manage their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. Treatment will integrate individual goals and values to enhance effectiveness. We use evidence-based treatments to address a range of mental health concerns, including adjustment difficulties, anxiety, depression, stress and trauma.
We provide SEAK-trained consulting neuropsychologist who performs assessments to identify cognitive, behavioral, and emotional changes associated with the neurological/neuropsychiatric conditions. Neuropsychological evaluations can be provided within the context of Expert Witness, Independent Medical Evaluations (IME), Worker’s Compensation and Disability Evaluations.
Cognitive Rehabilitation
Our cognitive rehabilitation services are designed to help individuals with acquired brain injuries such as stroke, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and other neurological conditions to adapt and improve their functioning and social relationships. Treatment approaches are evidence-based. A neuropsychological assessment is required to guide and optimize treatment effectiveness.
Teletherapy
We offer teletherapy services to provide our clients with convenient and accessible mental health care. We are licensed in the state of Maryland and Virginia and can also work with individuals living in PSYPACT participating states. We use secure video conferencing technology to conduct therapy sessions.
Our Founder
Brain & Behavior Care is founded by Dr. Cecilia S. Han. Dr. Han is a board-certified clinical neuropsychologist who specializes in providing neuropsychological services for individuals 18+ with acquired brain injuries including TBI/Concussion, stroke, hypoxic/anoxic injuries, epilepsy, neurodegenerative conditions/dementia, other neurological conditions, and/or associated neuropsychiatric conditions such as mood disorders, anxiety, chronic pain, and PTSD. She is passionate about helping her clients adjust, cope, and function effectively in their daily, occupational, and social pursuits. Using a personalized approach, she is committed to understand each client’s unique needs and empower them to work through complex situations within an open, supportive environment to achieve their highest level of functioning and quality of life possible. Dr. Han strives to allow her clients feel heard, as she believes the best care starts with compassion and empathic listening.
In addition to clinical services, Dr. Han is also a SEAK-trained consulting neuropsychologist who provides assessments to identify cognitive, behavioral, and emotional changes associated with the neurological/neuropsychiatric conditions. Neuropsychological evaluations can be provided within the context of Independent Medical Evaluations (IME) or Worker’s Compensation Evaluations.
Dr. Han received her clinical trainings at VA Palo Alto Health Care Systems, NYU Langone Rusk Rehabilitation, and MedStar National Rehabilitation Network. She worked in both urban metropolitan and suburban rural areas, serving a variety of clinical populations.
Dr. Han is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. She has a strong passion for improving the accessibility of services for underserved populations. She collaborated with Alzheimer’s Association – National Capital Area and other local nonprofit organizations (CCACC and CACHS) and provided 30+ community education presentations in English and Mandarin to local community groups regarding brain injury and dementia.
Dr. Han is committed to training and providing clinical supervision to individuals at local universities, while also serving as the co-chair of the Early Career Development Task Force for the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine (ACRM).
